Matthew Shannon

Matthew Shannon

Matthew has eight years coaching experience in both England and USA. He spent six months in 2001 in New Jersey, observing street soccer in areas of Elizabeth and also the Bronx, New York. During his time he was able to gain insight and valuable experience into street cage soccer and developing football in the community. Matthew also spent 6 years working at Tranmere Rovers School of excellence, developing young players and assisting with the centre of excellence development.

Matthew now has used these skills to help develop the multi –sports academy and is responsible for the day to day running of the Business through project management and grant applications.


David McDermott

David McDermott

David has both playing and coaching experience in England and the USA. After completing a four year football scholarship at Franklin Pierce College in the USA, David was hired through the University as an assistant coach.

David was involved in coaching and youth development in the Massa chutes and New Hampshire area, working and coordinating a number of soccer camps. David has played with, against and coached a number of professionals from all over the world.

Matthew now has used these skills to help develop the multi –sports academy and is responsible for the day to day running of the Business through project management and grant applications.


Derry Matthews

Derry Matthews

Derry Mathews is an English featherweight boxer and former holder of the English Featherweight title. As an amateur he won the 2002 ABA Bantamweight championship. Mathews shot to notice in October 2006 when he defeated Stephen Foster to win the WBU Featherweight title. The win over Foster was good and really announced Mathews as a force on the domestic scene.

Derry will now head up the Boxing & Fitness Academy and will be responsible for its development across the region.
